“Can conversation without face-to-face interaction warm our hearts as much as facing each other?” – Excerpt from Ha Ji-won’s work notes As the digital world expands through digital networks like metaverse and social media, it prompts us to contemplate how we should understand and connect with each other. The changes in human relationships have increased the convenience of communication and made it possible to form various human connections. However, there is a trend of decreased quality in human relationships due to anonymity, insecurity, and reduced face-to-face interactions. It’s often easier to talk to people without seeing their faces, and things that might be difficult to say in person can be easily expressed online. The artist expresses this anonymity through figures without faces in her works. Ha Ji-won’s works focus on this aspect. With vibrant and lively colors, the works depict the spontaneity and lightness of transformed relationships, handling anonymity through figures without faces intertwined in complex ways. In the artwork, each figure has various connections, which come together to form larger relationships, indicating the possibility of more spontaneous digital human relationships. However, the figures in the artwork are depicted as excessively bound to each other, suggesting that Ha Ji-won has a positive outlook for the future and a determination to move towards better human relationships. The artist emphasizes that we all need to recognize the changing forms and methods of human relationships and prepare for them with our own efforts.

FEZHが主催するグループ展【BE GENTLE WITH US】がいよいよ今週の日曜日からスタートします。🎨
今回のグループ展には17人のアーティストが作品を出品する予定で、
お日さまもアーティストとして参加されます！✨
さきほどインスタで公開された英語のアーティスト＆作品紹介によると、
今回のグループ展ではお日さまがデジタル世界での人間関係について語る作品が展示されるようで、
「Virtual Venus」シリーズの作品が見られるのではないかと思います。🥰
先月のアート深圳で初めてお日さまの作品を見て、作品解説を聞いた多くの方が
「お日さまの作品のメッセージ性がとてもいい」と絶賛していました。
言葉や国が異なっても絵は共感やメッセージを伝える力があるだな～と改めて実感しました。
多くの人がお日さまの作品を見て、デジタル世界での人間関係について考えるきっかけになればいいですね。💕
